1. Introduction

Captureze ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our website screenshot monitoring service.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication information through our identity provider (Clerk). We do not store passwords directly.

Usage Data

We collect information about your use of the service, including:

URLs you monitor
Screenshot schedules you create
Screenshot images captured
Notification preferences

Technical Data

We automatically collect certain technical information, including IP addresses, browser type, and device information for security and analytics purposes.

AI Assistants and the MCP Connector

You can connect Captureze to an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT through our Model Context Protocol (MCP) server at mcp.captureze.com. When you do:

You sign in with your Captureze account over OAuth, or the assistant presents an API key you created. Either way the assistant acts only on your own account, with your plan's limits.
We receive only what the assistant sends when it calls a tool: for example the URL to capture, a schedule, or the id of a site or capture. We do not receive your conversation, your prompts, or the assistant's memory, and we do not ask for them.
Captures, sites and schedules created through the connector are stored and retained exactly like ones you create in the app (see Data Storage and Security).
The MCP server keeps no record of its own: it forwards each call to the Captureze API and does not write tool arguments, results or access tokens to disk or logs. To avoid re-checking a sign-in on every call, it remembers in memory for up to a minute which account an access token belongs to.
What a tool returns (capture images, change percentages, certificate details, site lists) is passed to the assistant you connected, and from then on is handled under that assistant provider's own terms and privacy policy.
You can disconnect at any time from the assistant's connector settings, or by revoking the API key under Settings → API keys.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Provide and maintain the screenshot monitoring service
Send notifications about screenshot changes
Process payments and manage subscriptions
Improve our service and develop new features
Communicate with you about service updates
Ensure security and prevent abuse

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption, on servers and object storage in Germany (EU). Screenshots can be stored either on our servers or in your own S3-compatible storage (Pro plan). We retain your data as long as your account is active. Screenshots are kept while you have an active subscription or trial, and deleted 365 days after it ends. Screenshots saved to your own storage are never deleted by us — only our records of them are.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Clerk - Authentication, including OAuth sign-in for AI assistants
Stripe - Payment processing
Hetzner - Server hosting and object storage in Germany
Email providers (Resend, Brevo) - Notification delivery
Proxy network providers (datacenter and residential) - Captures are made through them, so they see the address of the page being captured. They receive no account information about you.
IP location services - Queried from the proxy during a capture to record the country it was made from. They receive no information about you.
DigiCert - Independent RFC 3161 timestamps on Certificates of Capture. It receives only a hash of the capture, never the image or any account information.
Telegram and your own webhooks - Only if you choose to receive notifications there

Each of these services has their own privacy policies governing how they handle your data. We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access your personal data
Correct inaccurate data
Delete your account and associated data
Export your data
Opt out of marketing communications

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising purposes.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by email or through the service.
